Can children participate in the Mini-marathon?
- Children are not permitted to register for the main competitive 10km event. However, there are two alternative options to allow children to take part:
- The Mini-Mini event (2km). Registration for this event will open shortly, and is usually managed through primary schools.
- Its4Girls Teen Event (10km). This is a participative event for secondary school girls aged 12-17, designed to encourage participation in sport, and entry is just €10 to include t-shirt and medal. A prize will be awarded to the overall winner in this category. Registration for Its4girls is available here.
- Please note that only participants who have officially registered for the event will be covered by insurance on the day. Only participants with race numbers will be permitted to enter the starting enclosure.
Can I add or change my t-shirt size once I have registered?
- T-shirt swaps may be possible on the morning of the event depending on availability but this is not guaranteed. Please visit the Event Marquee on Market Square to speak with one of the team.
I registered for more than one person, but only one t-shirt has arrived. Why?
- All-t-shirt orders are packed and posted individually, and postage is calculated by weight, so postage needs to be paid for each t-shirt. If you've only received one t-shirt, that means only postage for one t-shirt was paid.
All outstanding t-shirts and race numbers will be available for collection on the weekend of the race including on the morning of the event.
I registered for the virtual event and want to change to in-person. Can I?
- Yes, please bring your t-shirt and come along! Please pop into the Event Marquee on Market Square so we can allocate you a new race number.
Are buggies permitted during the race?
- Unfortunately no buggies are permitted during the 10km event. However parents and guardians are very welcome to bring buggies along on the Mini-Mini (2km) route.
Will there be water stops along the route?
- Yes! Staying hydrated is important, and there will be water stops along the route opposite CostCutters Supermarket on Killala Road and at the athletics track in Belleek.
I'm travelling to Ballina - where can I park?
- You'll find details of all public car parks in Ballina here, along with Google Map links to help you find your way.
Is there a bag drop area?
- No, there is no bag drop area for this event.
Will there be toilets along the route?
- There will be toilets available at both water stations along the route - at Costcutters on Killala Road and at the running track in Belleek.
